For those looking for some good news, South Jersey received 1.2 inches of rain and Valley Forge about the same with more on the way.

The USGS map shows feast or famine with this most recent rainfall. We got a LOT of rain here in the Philly suburbs!

.39" so far but 80% of the 3+" of snow is gone.

Don't know what area you reference, but Philly got roughly 1.37" per the Precip app. That's a lot in a pretty short period. I just updated my search.

Well it’s not rain but from what I see most of Pennsylvania is going to get a major snow dump over the weekend followed by lots of cold weather. Then the “possibility” of another storm in the following week. Hopefully a couple of feet in the mountains lasting into March for a nice slow melt. That might help recharge the water table.

This is an older thread but what is the consensus as to stream levels in central and north central Pennsylvania?
They should be okay with the slight rain we're getting this week and the melting snow, but check the gauges for certain and accurate levels.
Honestly, I think most streams are still snow/ice covered, at least enough so that I wouldn't waste time fishing them.

Based on the few gauges that aren’t iced up I think things look fairly low to average for this time of year. If the snow melts fast, without good spring rains it’ll drop quick. If the pattern turns wet, we should have a good spring with well charged groundwater stores from the snow melt. So basically, no idea 🤣

I always say let’s reevaluate in 2 weeks. And then 2 weeks after that…And so on.

Right now state wide I would say most surface flows are pretty low.
Hopefully the slowish melt continues and we get a good rate of groundwater recharge.
NCPA is still a solid block of ice on most of the freestoners. A big shot of rain would cause major problems with ice jams

No. I nymphed very briefly when I got there then saw some olives come off, so I tried force feeding them dry flies. They weren't having it. I enjoyed the casting practice though. Talked to a guy that caught a few on a streamer on my way out.
