It rained last night in the Delaware Valley. From what I could tell from the radar it looked like most of the eastern part of Pennsylvania was in for some rain. Please tell me that it’s true!

yeah its raining in the nw burbs of philly. Hoping for more but looks like its only going for another hour or so.

Pouring in South Jersey for over an hour. My lawn is loving it 😍

Potential for a nor'easter exists for this weekend... Depending on if/where that lands, could help with water levels for a bit..

I’m watching the local forecast for South Jersey. Looks like a 2-3 day washout, but mostly on the coast. I did see one model showing rain as far west as Williamsport. Fingers crossed 🤞!

Need more up here in NWPA. WE got as much rain Tuesday-Wednesday that we received the entire month of September. Very little run off as the area still has not gotten a killing frost. Moderate drought does not help either.

Dear CRB,

We need more in the Harrisburg area too. If the gauges at FTIG airfield are to be believed we got over an inch and half of rain mid-week. It literally had zero effect on water levels in the area. as in a 3-inch rise on Shermans Creek that has quickly returned to the Monday level.

The good thing was that while we received a decent amount of rain it came over more than 24 hours and never really fell rapidly. I'm thinking much of the rain actually was absorbed by the ground where it is desperately needed. The current forecast calls for a similar quantity of rain Saturday night through Monday AM. Having next week off it may allow me to hit some streams, or even the river after Tuesday.

Here's hoping!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

I was watching the weather channel. It seemed to show heavy rain in eastern Pennsylvania with rain into the western Allegheny region, leaving the middle of the state getting almost nothing.

Sitting in Avalon NJ this morning. Rain bands off and on since around 7:00 am. The wind is up and they are calling for a big blow including flood tides. One prediction for State College is for less than half inch of rain through Tuesday. I’m sure the area could use much more.

Dear salmo,

Since last night they have dropped the forecast for Harrisburg by more than half, from 1 1/2 inches over several days to closer to 1/2 inch.

Looks like I'll fish lakes then.

Looks like the rain amounts have been dialed back even more. If you have FB you can see an animation: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BihS4VcGN/
Dear wgmiller,

I kind of stick with the NWS, just because I live 8 miles from a reporting station.

I know I'm going to sound like a dufus, I do that alot, but they have actually dialed up their forecast for the Harrisburg region back to last night's forecast of over an inch of rain being possible. This morning it was a 1/2 inch tops.

I guess we'll see what happens?

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

To be fair, that was a link to the State Collge office of the NWS 🙂

Dear wgmiller,

I stick with NWS local for my zip code and it's jumping around like a one-legged man at an arse kicking contest.

I hope we get 1 1/2 inches from Olean NY to Binghamton NY and all points south. It's direly needed!

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂
