When I left at the beginning of October Penns Creek was so low around New Berlin I swear I could walk across it without getting my feet wet. Have the recent rains brought it up at all ?

It rose to about 200 cfs or so, back down to 100 now. Had a buddy fish it yesterday who reported a thorough skunking.
Skunking on Penns. Ha, classic!
I got skunked on Penns for a whole weekend a couple of weeks ago! Three days is skunking! Well, I did briefly hook a 7" brown on an RS2, but I lost it after about one second.

Dear {WR},
I crossed it 2 weeks ago on Rte 104 at Penns Creek and it was basically a mud flat with small water channels running through it. Every stream I looked at that day was frog water at best.

I'm derailing this, sorry, but in the scientific method you compile facts to make a conclusion. Very often there are in fact, alternative facts- facts that support the other point of view. It's a legitimate concept.
Actually, Larry was so distracted by watching fly fishers who couldn't cast that he forgot that he waas to be fishing himself.

Fished Penns yesterday. Was hoping the levels would still be up, but it was pretty dang low. I landed a few on nymphs and a few on streamers. I had about 20 FEROCIOUS attacks on my streamer, but only hooked up a few times. I don't think they were trying to "eat" the streamer, rather attack it as it entered their space. No redds, but they are definitely getting ready to spawn. We need more rain.

I'm stilll looking for a good spot to track rainfall. All i want to do is be able to put in a zip code and see, 24, 48hr, 30 days, ytd, etc. Is there some kind pf noaa site that will accomplish this for me

As Tim Murphy mentioned above, try the raindrop app. It is free for one or 2 sites, then you pay. It’s a bit clunky to add and subtract sites to keep it free, but it gives up to the past 72 hours, as well as monthly and yearly totals.
I use it for gardening at my home site, and Erie County this time of year as my second site. I didn’t explore cost for over 2 sites.

All i could manage to get on raindrop was 24 hours past. Nothong else, ytd, above avg, below avg, etc. Its very possible i was doing something wrong I will give it another shot, thanks
