Someone asked him why he watches George Whitfield preach, being that he didn't believe what George preached.
Franklin said, I don't believe, but he does very much so, and that is what makes him so fascinating.

The Potter County Anglers Club had stocked IPN positive fish in the Genesee watershed for a number of years before that was halted. Apparently someone at the PFBC lacked an understanding in basic geography, or simply didn’t care.
They are no longer listed as stocking any of the Genesee tributaries or the Genesee any longer. What then was the need for 60,000 dollars in Great Lakes improvements?

I hold the same opinion as him and probably 99% of everyone else that posts here about not stocking over wild fish and that the PFBC is a clown show. It's revisionist history to pretend he wasn't causing trouble here with the complete hijacking of every thread with his invasive species ramblings, regardless if he had a good point or not. He isn't hard to get in contact with outside of this forum if you long for his company so badly.

I like fishsticks. I was just trying to be funny and be fair and look at it from both sides. I like to try to be balanced as to understand both sides. I guess I’m finding it hard to believe that a commissioner is into stocking is shocking anyone. This guy stocks at his day job. On the board for stocking for the state. Perhaps stocking in his free time. 🙂 I just can’t get behind picking on him. He clearly likes it.

Even giving Commissioner Brock the benefit of the doubt here, let’s say that the tagged fish are purchased from a private facility and raised at Potter County Anglers, should we still be ok with $60,000 of our license fees being used for someone’s fishing derby?

Im not, but it likely came from Capital Funds, since millions came from that to fix hatcheries.

I see what you guys are saying. But what if he stocks 13 creeks and lets say he donates $20,000 in stocked trout to each creek from straub. Then he is providing $260,000 in fish. If fish commission is loosing, only losing $60,000. I can’t see how that isn’t a fair deal. That would be a surplus of like $200k in free stocked fish. All to let a commissioner sell a few extra cases of beer at his brewery? I’m sure my numbers are off. Since I made them up. However I can see a scenario where it is mutually beneficial. Fisherman get extra stocked trout, more than they ever would have with the $60,000 alone, and straub sells a few extra cases of beer. Maybe I’m just looking at it from the angle of an optimist.

Sorry, that was a little too snarky.....it's been a rough night. Power has been out since 530 and I had to fart with my generator for an hour to get it going. We have a well so no power = no water = cranky wife. I never saw wind so strong in my 44 years. Watched 3 100 foot trees fall on my neighbors property.

He had a few good points that he inserted over and over and over ad nauseum in every single thread. As Dudeman said, most of us would agree with that message, but he needs a little more style and finesse in his delivery because he was, truly and above all else, polarizing and annoying.
I'm glad that we can have discussions regarding corruption and kickbacks in the PFBC, which seems to be what his message was addressing; I thought Suleski's poignant message was commendable at that meeting, but his behavior here was uncalled for on numerous occasions. Sure, bring him up and the brookie cause in pertinent threads, but hopefully no one becomes Fish Sticks incarnate #2 because that probably won't stand too long around here.

Absolutely 💯 I get it.
I often agreed with him, but didn't insert myself in the thread until it was far off the rails. But I can't help but find it strange that so many argued against his points at the time simply because he was annoying, while saying now they agreed with him.
I'm just trying to say, his points were always valid even if his behaviors were not.

To play devil's advocate, would Potter County Anglers have extra trout for Straub's to put tags on if Freeman Run, Middle and West Branches Genesee weren't designated Class A and stocking ceased outside of kid's derby at Austin school grounds? I don't think they would. Isn't Brock the one who repeatedly pushes for stocking on Freeman Run? Why do that if Straubs depends on those fish for marketing? Sorry, but I don't see this as something nefarious. Fish Sticks is coming for the free beer in Elk County..

So people will be passionate on both sides about any action or inaction. Ill take a compromise over nothing any day of the week.
I've heard that too and am against it. I've also heard South Woods and FFS(section 01) will become Class A and stocking ceased. I don't believe any of it until I see it on Pennsylvania Bulletin. But, if the rumor you heard and the other rumor I heard are both true, I would be less objective to reinstating stocking on Freeman Run (02).

There is no doubt that Potter County is a paradise in many anglers' eyes, both wild trout purists and stockie truck chasers. Traditional stockie fishermen flock to Potter County.
I don’t think its acceptable for my license dollars to be paying for upgrades to the facility in which these tagged fish are raised, regardless if the fish are PFBC co-op allotted fish, or fish purchased from a private facility.
Straub Beer is using these tagged fish as an advertising promotion and will likely receive increased revenue as result. If they want to do this, there’s no reason that they can’t buy the fish directly from a private hatchery and place them directly in the water.
