My buddy and I hit Penns on the with hopes of taking advantage of some warmer weather. As it turned out it was a great day. Got on the water around 9:00 am air temp. was about 26 degrees F, water temp unknown, no ice. Cloudy, slightly foggy and overcast. I think the gauge was reading around 260CFM so it was low but great color.
We fished until about 3:30 with the air temp reaching 41 degrees F. Between the two of us, we managed to land 5 and and hook at least an additional 6 or so. No rising fish to be seen. Saw a few small midges coming off but very little bug activity. Woven Golden Stone fly was the ticket and landed one on a Hares Ear also. Had a great time spending time with my buddy even though it wasn't a stellar day just to be on the water made it a great day. Stopped by the Hook to see Jonas, man that guy just makes me laugh. We Just had intentions on popping in to say hello, an hour later a we were still there.
If anyone is looking for waders he has Dan Baileys on sale right now. picked up some for my son.......and so it begins.
