Only 700,000 fishing licenses sold in PA would be easy to do. Then we would not have an issue stocking over wild.....

They found 92,000 people to sign that? That's nearly 3% of Oregon's adults. I hope there are a lot of fraudulent signatures because I don't have much hope for a state where 3% of the residents have already lost their minds.

I wonder what percentage of those who signed have pet cats and didn't think through the fact that their beloved companions are obligate carnivores.

Some people need to be exposed to more natural occurrences. It's a rough world out there. If you are a critter who isn't human, loved by a human, or swiftly killed to feed a human, the "unaliving" event is going to be pretty horrific.

Doesn't surprise me one tiny bit in Oregon in 2026 nor does NO catch & release fishing in Germany & Switzerland...

The good news for me is I'll be dead & gone when something similar comes to PA...

I know more about Washington than Oregon but I imagine it is a similar situation where finding common sense west of the Cascades is a crapshoot.

If fish feel pain, I wonder if tiger trout who are supposedly "gender-less" get offended if you use an incorrect pronoun when a bystander inquires:

FWIW, I don't think any political persuasion has a monopoly on crazy. That's certainly been proven lately. I do think that people far removed from rural life are more prone to embrace ideas like this ballot initiative. In this case, I imagine they mostly align politically.

I think "it" would be fine considering it is a fish.

I'll keep the controversial side out of this but people really screwed up when they settled on "they" as an acceptable pronoun for a singular person. Regardless of what you believe, it introduces unnecessary ambiguity to a language that developed words specifically for clarity in such situations. It is undoubtedly a regression.

If you’ve ever been to Oregon, specifically Portland- none of this would surprise you at all. Good news is the half decent parts of that state will probably be part of Idaho sometime in the not so distant future.

Why don't you start with Mifflin Co. and see how you make out? It seems like something that could gain traction in the center of the state and spread from there.

I think that's a great idea. What I think I need to do is start planting more cats in people's homes so they too can become infected by the cat-crazies. Once I have a state full of cat-crazies and all citizens are thoroughly infected, there is no way this wouldn't pass. My geographic location does benefit my takeover of the state.

I really do like my cats, but this proposal is asinine; it will never pass.

IMO Common sense isn't so common anywhere.
