Went and checked out some new spots by Ligonier Still dont really know what to throw but i am figuring it out. It was fun getting out there again today! Is this the right sort of thing to be throwing?
No luck today but a nice day out!

I’ve been consistently hooking into (maybe not always getting it to the net but hooking nonetheless) fish with a micro bugger jig fishing it on a swing, bouncing it off the bottom, or fishing it like a standard streamer lately. It’s been working well with this higher water we’ve had cause they’ll cut down deep pretty quick.

You're on the right track with fly choice. Early season kind of high flowa, dark pattern, heavy bead is a pretty good recipe to catch a few. Subtle adjustments and experience will help you get more in the net.
I fished 2 cricks yesterday between 11 and 4.. It took a few adjustments before getting a few in the net. Purple flashy micro bugger 4.0 bead #12 jig hook on a dead drift. Temps in upper 30s snow and rain, wanted to warm up so I took a 15 minute ride to another crick to fish. I fished maybe maybe ten minutes with no luck before downsizing to 3.3 bead#14 hook olive (some flash) perdigon and getting some in the net.
Stream temps were cold. Fish were not moving much. Takes were soft , only detectable in the sighter part of my leader. I don't think I felt one strike all day.
Good luck in the future and you'll figure it out.

Sometimes the water is cold and they just aren’t in the mood. A skunk is ok. Fun day without the fish really makes you appreciate the days they make an appearance. Also make you appreciate how good a bad day fishing actually is. Fish will start to bother your ventures into nature soon. As conditions change and warm, the fish will become more active. Any day staring at a creek imaging the possibility’s and potential is a day well spent.

Thank you for stating what should be obvious. My last three times out have been skunkings, once for trout and twice for smallmouth. Frustrating to not catch fish, but being on the water is still peaceful and a welcome chance to tune out the concerns of everyday life.

Drift till line tightens then swung it across the stream in front of very rough water,they were picking things off before the hit the waterfalls so to speak

Water is probably a little cold for any serious bass fishing but its only a month away so to speak usually bass gets better as trout tapers off just my 2 cents
Cold water, as folks have indicated, lead to lethargic fish.
Another thing to keep in mind - days that look like you want to be outside are not always (ever?) the best fishing days. Overcast, cloudy, spitting rain a bit, bring more trout up than a bluebird sky.
