Friday, fished from 0800 to 11:00A. It was mostly sunny and warmed to low 70s if I remember. Smallmouth were active mostly on a black over white Clouser either swinging in the current or slow strip and stop. Sometimes a short strip at the end of the swing would bring a strike. It was a steady bite for three hours and then pretty much shut down.
Fished today from 0730 to 12:30. Mostly clouds and low 60s air temp. Picked up a couple smallmouth early. The bite came on strong obout 10:00 and was steady until about noon. Stripping Clousers worked with yellow over chartreuse working best. Got several up on a small popper when the streamer bite slowed. No bait busting observed either day.
Most of the smallmouth ran 8" to 10" both days with a few around the one foot mark. They all looked real clean. No sores at all. I did catch one perch which is a first for me in the section of river.
