Friday, fished from 0800 to 11:00A. It was mostly sunny and warmed to low 70s if I remember. Smallmouth were active mostly on a black over white Clouser either swinging in the current or slow strip and stop. Sometimes a short strip at the end of the swing would bring a strike. It was a steady bite for three hours and then pretty much shut down.

Fished today from 0730 to 12:30. Mostly clouds and low 60s air temp. Picked up a couple smallmouth early. The bite came on strong obout 10:00 and was steady until about noon. Stripping Clousers worked with yellow over chartreuse working best. Got several up on a small popper when the streamer bite slowed. No bait busting observed either day.

Most of the smallmouth ran 8" to 10" both days with a few around the one foot mark. They all looked real clean. No sores at all. I did catch one perch which is a first for me in the section of river.

Thanks for the report, the wife and I have off a few days here soon. Been a crazy, busy year, tidying up our new house. I've got the bug to get out, haven't had much time. I've got to get her on some nice fish. Been telling her smallmouth can be so much more fun than trout sometimes. Might have to get out and fish the home stretch.

Thanks for the report and good to hear some catchin is happenin.

October on the bass rivers can really fish well.

Got out today river is very low ultra clear. Didn't get any fish, just wanted to test my legs. Had a back injury in September and it took all I had to make it through 300 yds. of wading low water. I was exhausted when I got home. Felt good to sit out on a rock with my wife though. Did see a bass or two busting minnows across the surface along the bank though.
