All kidding aside, how has the fishing been in the area?
Im really wanting to fish some small water for brookies and browns. Ive never caught either so they are my main goal in 4 days of fishing. If anyone has a tip or stream to try please 🙏 let me know. Im not asking for anyone's secret spot ( unless your feeling generous) i just need the right place to start fishing

The fishing in this area is either for stocked fish or for brookies. I much prefer to go after brookies. Not going to name names here. But one thing that I have found - and honestly is really annoying to me - is that the best brookie fishing I have found is in streams that are also stocked. As far as "larger" stocked streams go - I personally much prefer Laurel Hill Creek to the Loyalhanna - which was mentioned. If you want to stay very close to Ligonier check out Four Mile Run - it can be enjoyable.

We have no problem driving an hour or so to find fish. Ligioner seemed like a good central location to stay for our first time

There is also a FFO project on the Little Mahoning which stocks brooks and browns. Should be under an hour to get there. It’s north of Indiana near Rochester Mills.

Not worth the drive. IMO. Used to be one of my faves. Appears to have and incredible dvour st one point
Was there a few weeks ago and it was very low as well.
Lots to fish within 30 minutes. Two somewhat newer good places to eat just east of the diamond as well.

I fished a section of Laurel Hill a few weeks ago (not either of the DHALOS). Albeit stocked fish, the dry fly fishing was pretty darn good, #14 tan caddis. Water conditions permitting, a #12 March Brown would be a good bet this weekend.

Afternoon 1 in the books.
We fished about 1 mile stretch of 4 mile run but No bites No fish seen. We are staying on 4 mile run about 2 miles up from the loyalhanna.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Brenda’s (may know as Rector store) has terrific deli sandwiches and it’s very close to Linn Run. If you fish the Loyalhanna there is plenty of stream beside the project, you can walk far.

I'm really not sure I'm not familiar with the place,and he follows map quest directions from his phone to his vehicles radio that he knows no road names,no town names,he goes by turn left in 1 mile,then proceed to next intersection and go right,etc etc absolutely terrible with directions,he asked me where Ridgeway is I laughed I said you go through it every time you go to East Branch,he shrugs his shoulders and says I don't pay attention,I just listen to Google directions,

Hey guys just got back to the house. I managed to catch 4 trout today and 2 were my first ever brookies that were top of my list. We walked alot of linn run which is were i caught these brook trout. How do I determine native from a stocked brook trout?

Now that I looked at the map I'd say yes at Kingston,he did say where rte 30 is separated by the creek,

Years back this was a slightly more frequent occurrence, now pretty rare. Glad to hear that.

Yes sir! I was so excited to catch those beautiful tiny little trout! Best part is i caught my first brookies on a nymph that I tied.
Planning on driving up to laurel hill tomorrow,
Hopefully it's productive.

Thank you. Im extremely new to all of this so to say I was excited with my first brook trout is an understatement!
