Framed Fly Fishing Prints, Original Paintings, Flies.

My wife and I are downsizing, and these framed pictures, prints, paintings, and flies need to find new homes. All of these are in very good - to excellent condition, (unless otherwise indicated) and come from a non-smoking and no pets home.

I do not have the time to package and ship them, and would like to keep them hanging in our home while we try to sell it, so unless we sell it before thenthese will be available for pick up in New Holland, PA on or about August 28, when we are moving to a new home in Lancaster, PA.

I’ve tried to price these very reasonably, but if you think otherwise, let’s discuss via a private message here. (Also, I apologize for the picture quality as I didn’t take the time to remove them from the various places where they are now hanging, which was not always conducive to getting good pictures). All measurements are in inches of the outside the frame diameter.

Note: There will be multiple postings of these prints since the system limits the number of pictures per post.

1. Yellow Breeches at Allenberry by Robert Abbett print, 1979, 239/880, 31x880. $20.00.

2. Brook Trout print by Greg Yoder, 20x14. $10.00

3. 3 prints of Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout, with flies. Artist unknown. 1991, 25x28. All 3 together $25.00.

4. 12 framed Spey and Wet Flies. It is hard to see from this picture, but these flies are recessed about 1” in the frame. 20x17. $60.00.

5. The Last Drake print by Ned Smith. Artist’s Proof. 50/100. 25x28. $300.00.

8. 14 Salmon Flies sold by Hardy in London, England. 15x12. $75.00.

(Note: I bought these at the Hardy store in London in the early 1970’s, and my wife framed used wax wax to mount them in the frame which become soft and the flies have dropped somewhat. You can remount the flies more horizontally if you’d wish to do that.)

12. Wm. Mills & Sons, NYC. circa 1920 plates from their catalog showing wet flies that they offered for sale at that time. 21x9. (Matting shows some stains and could be replace if desired. I believe this was once owned by Ernest Hemingway’s cousin, with whom he remained very close throughout his life.) $10.00

Last, an oil painting that I commissioned by Steve Haigh, artist from Carmel, IN in 2013, using a photograph of Depuy’s Spring Creek in Paradise Valley, Livingston, MT. Steve featured this painting awhile back on his Facebook page. 43x29. $500.00

Since one has expressed an interest in the 3 framed Salmon and Spey flies, items 4, 8 and 9 (see these items and pictures posted above) I will now sell them for half (50%) of my original asking prices.

These are very nice flies (nicer than the pictures show IMO, ) and you could fish for salmon or steelhead with them if you’d rather do that than hang them on your wall. (You wouldn’t be able to buy those flies individually at this price.)

Also, all of these are available for pickup now in New Holland, rather than at the end of August as I said before, since my home is now under a sale agreement.

Can't/won't purchase any myself because my walls and home are just stock-full of upland/wildlife/sporting art (mostly originals), but you have some nice stuff and your prices are ridiculously reasonable. I especially like the Ned Smith, the Eldridge Hardy and the Ken Hull (I knew Ken when I was a student at PSU, I actually used to sell him shoes. He was a really nice guy). I also love the original piece and again, your price is incredibly reasonable and if I had the cash or the space, I'd take that one.

For the prices you have on them, I'm surprised that everything didn't sell very quickly. I know that the market for limited edition prints isn't what it used to be, but you're still pennies on the dollar for most of that stuff and it's all the genre that most of us on this forum enjoy. For what it's worth, I also like the Sussino limited edition Brookie print. I've tried to get rid of many/most of the prints or photos in my home and to replace them with orginal artwork, but one of the few prints that I still have is a Sussino Brookie print (open edition), but it's a different print than you have.

For the prices you have on them, I'm surprised that everything didn't sell very quickly. I know that the market for limited edition prints isn't what it used to be, but you're still pennies on the dollar for most of that stuff and it's all the genre that most of us on this forum enjoy. For what it's worth, I also like the Sussino limited edition Brookie print. I've tried to get rid of many/most of the prints or photos in my home and to replace them with orginal artwork, but one of the few prints that I still have is a Sussino Brookie print (open edition), but it's a different print than you have.

I had 2 of those Sussino brook trout prints. I guess I liked them that much. I sold one of them to a fellow a couple months ago who had seen a picture of that print that I had posted here sometime ago, and asked if I’d be interested in selling it to him. He was from central PA, but was living in Billings, MT where he was in medical school. He sent me a couple pictures of trout he’d recently caught in one of the lakes in the Beartooth’s, not far from Billings. Here’s one of them.

This is super cool.

I just took this off the wall where it’s hung for the past 25 years and stand corrected on the pattern. Actually, it’s a Grey Riffle, similar to the Wulff, and another Newfoundland Atlantic Salmon pattern.
