Floro in Cold Water

I was out fishing locally last weekend and just like last year during the cold season I had a lot of line break issues using 5X tippet. These are break-offs that would not happen in warmer weather. Next time out I’ll fish with 3X, or maybe try mono. Have you experienced similar issues with floro in Winter?

I only use fluorocarbon and have no issues regardless of the temperature, so I suspect you got some bad 5X.

However, I will only use two brands, Seaguar Grand Max and Orvis Mirage.

FWIW - I tried Rio Fluoroflex ONCE and had the issues you describe.
