First Brookie on a fly

I've yet to see native brookies living in ugly places though.

AMD streams. Lots of them with brookies.

I find that an ugly environment looks less ugly after I've caught a nice trout in it.

Congrats! Such a good looking fish! It's a whole different thrill than catching something that bends the rod.

Here is a pic of my first Brookie on a fly from the Upper Peninsula in Michigan about 7 years ago.

We the wife caught her first brookie on a dry fly this evening. Same small Laurel Highlands mountain stream. She was pretty excited about it.

No native browns anywhere in Pa, just wild. But, that's a stocked brown.

Yea that’s what I meant, figured it was probably stocked. Caught it way downstream from where we got the brookies.
