Bloody Run looks like a delightful little spring Creek, exactly the type of stream that's my favorite!

I wonder what kinds of trees and/or shrubs they planted there, and what kind of survival they've had. It looks like it would have damp soils.

Sycamores and silver maples do well in those conditions.

That photo was of ones we did in April I think. I combined a little fishing and tree planting last Monday. . From what I remember from last Monday:
Silky dogwood, black willow, sassafras, chokecherry, gum, red and black oak. From what I was told the survival rate from spring was good despite a bit of a dry spell afterwards. Layer closest to stream was very wet, areas farther back we dealt with some limestone outcrops.

Ah...The Driftless. That's on my bucket list before I become fertilizer. Absolutely beautiful looking stream that's got to house some pretty wild browns 👍👍

Beautiful pictures. I love the one against the shale wall with perfect clarity to the bottom. The other one looks like the headwaters to a spring creek.
