Decided to take a day off to hit this section and the big stockers. Fished from 10 - 5. Beautiful day, Nice and warm, a few clouds here and there. Lots of fishermen out, split between spin and fly.
Fished the lower section by the lower lot and picked up 2 on size 18 pheasant tail (usually the fly of choice on this stream for me). Moved up stream through the slack water into the rock section. Picked up a nice 15" Brown with the PT. Slowed down through lunch time. Lots of Big Black stones popping along with midges throughout the day. Saw risers through the slack water. Couldn't entice them to take. Tried skating Stone imitations and dropped midges. Nothing.
Took a break and finally got a spot in the deep hole towards the end of the day. I had seen anglers pulling 15" plus fish out of there the whole time. Picked up a nice fat Bow on a black prince. Couple other small ones. Last fish of the day was an 18" Brookie with hook jaw. Put up a really good fight for a stocker.
