Made it out to East Branch Antietam Creek in Waynesboro on Saturday. Great way to close out Winter. Very nice day. Sunny with air temps at 70 and the water temp at about 50 degrees. Water was clear, high and moving quickly from the recent winter snow melt. We got out from 11:30 to about 3:00.
A special day as it was the first time my son went out fly-fishing. We spent a lot of time learning how to roll cast. The time we did fish we tried nymphs, San Juan Worms, the dreaded green weenie and finally had a little luck with a woolly bugger.
No fish rising. We saw only a couple of stone flies and one other angler as we were leaving. We parked on the top end of the project off Welty Rd.
