It was Jeff K,I did a lot of the painting.I remember planting some hemlocks at the Ferrence farm which you got for me (being my favorite tree).I need to go take a look to see if they took hold.I believe in stream restoration over stream improvement devices, creating holding water does little to improve habitat.I'm not saying some devices don't help, but planting native trees and shrubs has many more long term benifits.Over my 45+ years of trout fishing I've seen many stream improvement devices that have not been maintained and are now worthless.Trees and shrubs only need to be planted and let nature take over.Just my opinion.Yeah, I think we were pretty successful eradicating it. I believe you were the one who suggested we paint the MFR stubs, but I could be wrong. It might have been Jeff K., who always scored the Rodeo for us. If you remember the Ferrence farm, where the main branch flowed through an open meadow, the river birch are all pretty big and offer a full canopy over the stream. I was there in June of 2021. Where the water used to hit 83 degrees on hot days, the day I went the air temp hit 91, the stream was 70. After a thunderstorm, I fished that section and caught two wild brownies. Be well.
