Carp in SW PA

Anyone have tips for carp locations in SW PA Pittsburgh region? Been looking but having a hard time finding them apart from in deeper locations or obvious lake marks. I have a feeling I might need some sort of kayak or paddle board to get to the true mud flat locations I’ve scouted on maps.

You should be able to find wadeable carp opportunities in most mid size and larger warm water creeks and rivers with reasonable clarity. Granted, high flows are probably limiting those opportunities right now, but at some point during summer you should be able to find carp cruising wide shallow flats.

Where are you located? I have a good feeling North park Lake should have a ton of carp on the flats

There are a couple Army Corps tailwaters around that would be a good place to look.

Behind the Burger King RT 8 in Shaler. If you have a Kayak paddle over to the Gateway clipper docks. The water discharge at the Heinz Plant is another good spot. I used to get them on the boat ramp at the football stadium in the early mornings.

Chartiers creek from like Bridgeville to Crafton is chalked full of carp, pretty easy to access also. I will admit it has been years since I fished it.

Those folks are way too well dressed to be local clientele. Also I thought steelhead season was at least a few months out.
