To summarize, a high spike in E. coli colonies were found in the water of a stretch of Pine Creek that runs along Rt. 8 through Glenshaw/Wittmer/Undercliff. ALCOSAN has responded and is working on repairing the source of the pollution - a sewer line break that was pumping "pieces of toilet paper and solids" into the stream.

Not necessarily surprising in a waterway with landmarks such as "Burger King Falls," but still a story nonetheless.

Mountain Watershed also just announced some progress on slowing down mining in their area. I think it was the first time in over 30 years that this type of appeal was granted.
