A Creek Access Question

Am interested in hitting up Fawn Run, a minor tributary to the Lehigh. Checked access today but the only road going in is private and access off 476 is a non-starter.. Anyone have any info on other access points?

The upper portion of it is on SGL 40. In theory, you could park at one of the SGL lots to the south along 940, and bushwhack a hike north to Fawn, staying in SGL the whole time, if you wanted to. (Pack your orange this time of year.) But I’d suggest you likely don’t want to. Fawn Run will be half a step across kind of tiny, and who knows if you can even hike to it. Tons of rhodo in that general area. Plenty of other nearby options on public land that don’t present the issues Fawn does. (I’ve never fished it, and have no intention to, FWIW. Just suggesting you make sure you think the juice will be worth the squeeze before putting in the effort to attempt it.)

There’s one guy we lost as a regular poster a few years ago that I guarantee has fished it, or at least attempted to. Super small, Brookies preferable, but Browns are “ok” too sometimes, stream guy. Tiny stuff, like Fawn, on public land is his game. Miss him and his posts on here. Up there with guys like Dwight and Mike in terms of the knowledge they bring to the site.

I talk to him once or twice a year and fish with him once every few years maybe. Both too little. He’s well, just don’t see him on here much anymore.

Anyway, if he sees this, you’ll know, and get a helpful response I’m sure.

Thanks for your response. Parked on 476 where it crosses Fawn and it was super small, even with all the rain it had.
