What does STH stand for?
Dear JimNovo,

The were a reel maker from Argentina. The made their own reels as well as reels that were branded by Orvis, Cabelas before they turned into Bass Pro, and others. Their reels, especially the machined reels were high-quality stuff, the equal of any fly reel at the time. I have about 10 or them.

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

I had a 7/8 STH that they made for Cabela’s (made in Argentina) machined aluminum, it was an absolute workhorse of a reel. Had a large knurled adjustment knob that applied pressure to a cork disc. Fought hundreds of GL’s salmon, steelhead and browns on that thing. I do know that as time went on they made some less desirable reels that I have no experience with.
