On Sunday, Karen and I hit one of our favorite freestone streams that seems to always produce. It got pretty hot on Sunday with mid-day temperatures in the mid-80s. It was nice to be back in the mountains on Young Woman’s Creek. The stream levels, though up a bit from last week, were nearly optimal. We took a few small brookies and a few rainbows using dries such as a size 18 Blue Quill, a size 18 and 20 Adams. Karen took a few on a black foam ant (getting near that time). I took several by drifting a soft hackle wet fly and a green weenie sub-surface.
