Fished with my old man from 10 till about 1 around the bridges under sun and cool air temps. Managed about a hal f dozen fresh stockers on various nymphs. No bug activity to speak of. He had about the same luck on crawlers and some spawn I tied up. I did watch one guy catch a fish on nearly every cast for over an hour... Looked like he might have been midging off a caddis dry. I tried some small stuff with no luck. Tough reading the water below the dam... I checked out the area he was fishing and it actually seemed shallower than the areas that weren't holding fish. The last stocking must have been small fish as neither of us caught anything over 10 inches

From 2 to 4 fished just below confluence. It was a relief wading in some warmer water and the caddis agreed. There weren't many coming off but enough that fish were turned on to wets swung off the bottom. At some point I must have come across last years fingerlings as I caught a bunch of 7 inchers one after another, but the average fish down river was much bigger and healthier than above.
