Youghiogheny River - Somerset/Fayette 15Jul2026

I can see how those wanting to catch any trout below the dam would think the catching 10 fish and having 5 of them die, in a time when harvest is not a legal option, would not be optimal when catching ten, when conditions would favor surviva of all 10, and the opportunity to catchb all 10 again and may be possible.

Yeah I can see that too. My point was that it wasnt really worth trying to take a dump on someone posting about their fishing day.

the fingerlings need to grow up to become adults. It’s good to leave them alone in high water temps to have me good fishing in the future.

Not telling anybody what to do, but the leaving trout (man made or otherwise) alone in too warm of water is / know positive for the fish/fishery.

Maybe I'm anal or weird but my cut off temp is around 61 , and I wasn't trying to bash the author,if that's when he can fish go fish ,alot of us have probably been guilty of this, I for one went small mouth fishing inid June and caught a large rainbow way over 20 inches,it was probably a product of Heath twp sportsman club memorial day stocking of the Clarion river and I posted a picture of it with the small mouths,I didn't take a temp reading but it was warm enough to wet wade and swim which I did, if I had to guess that water was 68,+ , shame on me ,tight lines and cooler temps right around the corner
