I floated the middle "Yough" w/ forum member Mr. Mustard on Sunday. After a week of steadily declining flows, I was very hopeful we'd not be treated to the fickle side of the river... But alias, by AM Sunday the flows were on the rise, albeit slightly.

Setting out early, we were treated to one of the professional guides boating some nice fish. It was still early, but I could definitely feel some pressure to get Mustard on a trout!

Overcast skies gave way to bright sun and heat, but the "Yough", being only as it can be, got better as the day got hotter.

The first fish came to streamers, small but feisty. Then the tide turned for us.

Isos started to show... And Iso nymphs started to produce... And we started to get fish with almost regular frequency. Most were small, but it wasn't just a bunch of dinks. Mr. Mustard was in the lunch line with a fat nineteen inch bow! He finished the day some where north of double digits, which any Yough regular will tell you is damn good! I added a few of my own to the tally, but the big fish were all Mustard's.

Thanks for a good float Mr. Mustard. You did very well to learn the oars so quickly. And can you tell me where you got those Iso nymphs?

I can’t thank DaveS enough for taking me out on Sunday. I really had a blast on the float and it was a great opportunity to learn from someone who really knows what they are doing. Dave is a first-class individual and an excellent oarsman. He did an impressive job navigating the fast water to put me on my biggest Yough fish to date. If you ever get a chance to fish with him, it is not an opportunity to be missed.

I have a few pictures I will try to add tonight. I’m glad to see the pics you took turned out well even with my apparent inability to hold a fish out of the water for more than 3 seconds.

As for the ISO nymphs, I believe I purchased them either from International Angler or Flyshack.com a couple years ago. I can’t remember for sure, but I am working in tying some copies for the Delaware next week.

Very nice to hear the flows allowed you to float and the river cooperated. Hoping to get out with Dave myself to celebrate our nation's independence!

Skegfish, We don't have a shuttle service. We leave a car at the take out above Ohiopyle. I generally put in up near the damn at Confluence. This puts the angler over some fresh stockies, so we can hopefully get a fish or two into the boat early, and everyone can relax and enjoy the rest of the adventure!

Thank you to my friends for the kind, but not necessarily accurate words! LOL! I don't know what I have to pay for such glowing compliments, but I'd rather owe it to you than cheat you out of it.

I'd also make the claim that Dave is as good as any guide but I'm not sure. He makes me eat candy bars and drink a lot of beer. I'm usually sleeping 30 minutes in to the float. LOL
