TomGamber and I met up the Yough below the tailrace a distance from about 600 PM through dark. The trout never rose very much, but here and there, even though there were plenty of bugs.

We saw lots of small dark olive/brownish "BWOs" in about size 18-20, cahills in size 14, small tan caddis #18 (few), larger dark caddis #16, pale yellow craneflies, and some cream midges.

After 3 trips in a row with nothing to hand but some smallmouth, I managed to land a chunky 18" or so brown trout. This male was fat and strong, sporting a pronounced kipe. He took a size 10 orange-headed stimulator. The air temps were only in the high 60s when we arrived and ended up in the high 50s by dark. Water was about 850 cfs on the confluence guage.
