With the weather being so nice and me not being a Bear Hunter I decided to fish the Yough today. The river was flowing at 630 cfs and the water temperature was 45 degrees. I fished a streamer for the first hour with no luck. Decided to nymph the rest of the time and picked up 12 7-10 inch trout. I posted a picture of one rainbow on my blog, the spots looked different then the rest of my catches, not sure if it's a streambred bow or just a stockie?

hey grobe

Doesnt the PFBC stock fingerling bows in the Yough? Looks like one of those, just grown up a bit. Its hard to tell by the photo but the dorsal fin looks a little "crinkled", like it was "sun burnt" while in the hatchery.

Nice report regardless and a pretty fish.

Yes they do stock fingerlings in the Yough, and this year they stocked more then the norm. It probably is just a stockie, if they were to reproduce i'm sure we would of known by now!

Nice report Grobe...I figured some of the big browns would be chasin streamers this time of the year, but it is always hit or miss in the fall/early winter months. I enjoy the blog by the way.

I also took advantage of the nice weather monday, and fished the yough. I read 49 degrees on the section that I fished that afternoon, and found some fish rising sporadically to a very sparse BWO hatch
