Yellow Creek, Bedford County 9-15-13

Was heading back from SW PA when I decided to stop at Yellow Creek.
Arrived, chatted a few minutes with a gentleman on his way out. Said it was slow.
Fished the boy scout hole with a black bugger and caught a small rainbow but that was it. I headed upstream to the broken water and noticed a good hatch of small caddis coming off. Tied on a size 16 tan caddis and started catching small wild browns.

Missed a bunch but ended the day with a bout 7 fish. Seems the fish are keying in on caddis in many central Pa streams. Had similar experiences the last several weeks at Spring Creek.

I deff agree. I was at big spring yesterday and saw the thickest caddis hatch yet this year there. A size 16 tan elk hair caddis did the trick for there were many risers

Where is the "boy scout hole" located...? Is it down the creek from the little restaurant at the "Y"? Max

It's the first big hole above the parking lot.

actually the boy scout hole is the whole right above the big hole, its located on the other side of the island...the island is owned by the boy scouts...the big hole is called molly gorden

Thanks for correcting me. I know there is a sign with all the hole designations at the parking area now, but I thought it showed the boy scout hole below the island. I should have taken a picture of the map.
