Yellow Creek Bedford County 8-08-10

Weather great and stream flow great. Took several fish on terrestrials. Talked with a man with the yellow creek coalition who indicated there was a recent manure spill which wiped out a lot of invertebrates. The fish I caught seemed to be in good shape so I am not sure what the long term effect of the spill might be.

I fished it yesterday evening and was surprised by the flow. Took a bunch of rainbows in the top of the fly project on a crayfish/ stonefly variant pattern.

I wanted to fish it this evening on my way home from Everett but didn't after getting 70 degree water temp readings. Still nice flow and color though.

Albud - I'll bet you talked to either Fred - old guy likely sipping a Yuengling, or Charlie - long mountain man beard.
Did they give you any more info about the spill? Any fish killed or when it happened?

actually, I spoke to Barry from Yellow Creek Coalition
real nice guy, gave me a couple of ant patterns. Didn't see Fred but molested his trout 🙂
