An impromptu meeting between I and an old friend. After racing home from work Friday, packing and heading to Erie for Saturday and Sunday I was met with a nagging battery light on the dashboard around 186 MM. Decided not to risk it as the needle maintained its spot. So I pulled off at Sidling Hill, long story short, I didn’t get to Erie for Saturday. Instead, I installed an alternator in the parking lot of an advance auto in Everett in the rain, oh it gets better, I had to have my wife bring my tool box out by hotel checkout, she was coming this way anyway... I have a pretty good support staff. LOL.
Anywho....after finishing the alty swap I was informed that I “owed”my wife and daughter a debt of gratitude for getting up at 6 on their day off to rescue my sorry ***. Well, luckily for me they were willing to take a rain check as while they were dreaming of what restaurant they would eat at, I was wrestling with whether to get to Erie at 3:00pm and fish for an hour or so or go over the hill to Yeller Crik and fish for four hours.
Which brings me to the report...
It was rainy and 45, pleasant in a raincoat, water was up a bit and clear...as clear as it gets there anyway, chalky in the pools as always. Started at Molly Gordon and fished all the pocket water to Schoolhouse Pool. Managed one 16” bow on a pink worm. Fished a three fly rig, small weighted nymphs and the IPW. One other bump and no other fishermen seen.
So as I said, I got some alone time with my old friend. Hopefully we will meet again In the spring when the trouts are more eager and the bug factory restarts operations.
After I got undressed in a steady rain I began my journey to Erie. 3:48 minutes of checking the dashboard for a battery light. Had about 1.5 hours of heavy snow showers on the way too to make things interesting. Got to reconnect with my music memory card that was lost for a couple years.
Hold my beer while I try something...a hosting site so as I can share photos from these pieces of junk apple fan boy toys.
