Time fished:
1pm-6:30pm

Weather:
Mostly cloudy and a strong breeze through most of the afternoon. Temperatures in the upper 50s.

Water:
Good flow. I am uncertain of the cfs, but there was good holding water and pockets everywhere. The water was more turbid than I expected. The limited visibility made it easier to approach the fish.

Hatches:
Sparse midges (size 22-24), bwo (size 20), caddis(black size 18-20) and sparse brown stoneflies.

Results:
I moved fish on streamers, nymphs and dries. Golden stonefly nymphs and olive caddis larva moved the most fish. I caught a good mixture of wild and stocked trout. I landed approximately 10 rainbows that were apparently stocked and 3 more that appeared wild to me, including the biggest fish of the day. Anyone know if there is documented reproduction of the rainbows in Yellow Creek? The wild browns looked great and were better sized on average than the ones we caught out of Spring Creek last week.

I have caught rainbow fingerlings for many years in Yellow Creek. I wish they would stop stocking and see what happens.
