After fishing a couple other spots in the am, made it over to Breeches around 10:30. I stopped in at Boiling Springs and took a walk around the lake (see pic). Didn't fish - I just enjoy seeing the kids and opening day tradition with folks grilling burgers and other such fun stuff. Weather was cold and blustery. The upper YB watershed must have seen some rain last night as the river was a bit high and rather cloudy. I walked the Run - nobody fishing (see pic) even though there was virtually no space to park in the large lot there. Anyway, I drove upstream to a favorite ATW section and was surprised to see few fishermen. With the high, cloudy water I decided to "shot-up" and dredge nymphs. I immediately started getting fish, all stockie rainbows, right on the bottom. All the fish I caught were on orange sucker spawn. Nymphs and streamers didn't produce. By 1pm, although I was in a popular local park with good access and plenty of parking, I looked up and downstream for hundreds of yards and had it all to myself (see pic). There were more fishermen upstream and soon some fellas waded in. I saw no insects and no rises. Didn't get a water temp. The two other creeks I fished today also lacked bug activity.
