Was out this morning from around 8:00 and fished til 12:00. Flows were slightly up (as we had a nice slow rain yesterday) and water was clear. Lots of fishermen out (both fly and spin) taking an extra long weekend.
Early in I saw a mink moving along the bank and then take cover as I crossed the stream.
Around 11:00 or so began to see some sporadic rises to smaller sized Sulphurs. I primarily nymph fished most of the morning but, also put a Snowshoe Emerger pattern on when fish began rising. A nice sized brown trout refused it though.
Caught 6 to the net and lost a few more on Caddis and Sulphur nymph patterns. About evenly spread out between stocked Rainbows and small wild browns. Rainbows were all in the range of 12-14”.
Was a nice morning out before the rain rolled in for the weekend.
