Yellow Breeches Cumberland County 9/10/15

Fished the Allenberry section. Did well with snowshoe emergers and subsurface. Water very clear and fish were active though no one single fly was the answer. Take advantage of the cooler weather as the fishing is good. Some hexes coming off and caught a few fish I large stimulators.

albud, when you saw the Hexes, were they at the riffles right behind the allenberry pavilion?

No, actually I was above the dam. There is a riffle area before the dam backwater pool. They seemed to be coming off in the middle of the day which I thought was odd. Not sure what other mayfly it could have been though, as they were a light brown color and larger. Didn't appear to be a slate drake.

Yep, I know the area you were in. That does sound odd, but it probably was a Hex just hatching early.
