Got to the creek at Allenberry about 0615, thought I was in trouble ‘cause there were already 5 or 6 cars in the field. I lucked out though ’cause my favorite hole had room for me without walking on other fishers. Although no one has been talking about them the Trico’s were in the air. I didn’t see any risers so I put a #20 Zebra midge behind a #14 Elk hair Caddis and landed 3 small browns before 0700. Replaced the midge with a #22 Trico dun and started catching more. Fished ‘till around 0830 and got to double digits of mostly small browns on the Trico or the Caddis with a couple on ants and or beetles.
Didn't take the temp but it was well below 70 and clear with good flow.

Good to hear.
I was up at Allenberry in the afternoon a couple weeks ago during the youth camp. Water temps were very high - I got a reading of 75 degrees on the south bank. On the north bank, where cold water from The Run comes in, it was 69 degrees. With the recent weather pattern I'd imagine temps are even higher(?).

This is typical for the Breeches reg water in summer - definitely want to fish it in the morning.

Field parking question: As long as I can remember, there have been signs asking fisherman to park in the fishermen's parking lot and not on the field.

Are the people that park on the field paying guests of Allenberry with special permission or do they have some other arrangement with Allenberry?

Otherwise, I don't see why any able bodied person would disregard Allenberry's rules and park there.

Those who park other than in the "designated" fisherman's lot will eventually ruin the relationship between the owners and fisherman!

A lack of common sense and a disregard for a reasonable request by the property owners.

You are absolutely correct and I've emphasized this many times on this forum.
Fishermen should park in the upper "fishermen's parking lot" per the yellow sign on the tree that is clearly visible when you enter Allenberry.

In fairness to Buffalo, I believe he has a physical condition. Allenberry has made some concessions to allow some individuals and fishing guides to park down in the meadow. If you don't have such a concession (I don't, and always park up top)....please don't park down in the meadow.

I always park on the other side of the creek, but that is a great gesture by Allenberry to allow parking for any.of us.

Thanks, you are correct. I had my right knee replaced twice and need to have the left knee replaced as well. I would not be able to make it back up that hill. Before my knees went I would park up top or at the lot by the lake. I really do appreciate the Allenberry folks.
