Misty morning with some quick currents. Showed up with my father in law and tigertrout4wt about 7:30 and fished until 12:30. Some mayfly action but very little and nothing was rising to eat. Landed two browns on a green pupae almost right away. Then had no action until 11:30. Headed to Allenberry and landed a brook and one more brown on a prince nymph. Called it a day after that.

So I had the worst day of fishing in my life... pulled rocks and saw mayfly nymphs gray and brown all different sizes, caddis larva size 18, black midges in about size 22. I didn't catch anything and was using the same rig as my dad, but he got 3. His first fish was caught on a olive pupae size 22 at about 9:30. Then around Allenberry he got 2 more fish. One off the olive pupae and one off a size 16 yellow sucker spawn. It was a great day to be out. Also the first fish my old man has caught without ant help. Pictures soon to come up.

this was the last fish my old man got.

TT4W, a bad day fishing is better than a good day working. Hang in there and learn. It will get better. WTT

You would probably be better off fishing upstream than downstream depending on what your throwing. No shame in not catching fish on the run. Those fish are heavily pressured. Regs areas are not always the best areas to fish on popular streams.

Yea that was the end of my nymph run before recast. I have caught a lot of fish there before. Saw some new patterns I would like to tie. My old man got to most of the good holes I know before I could get into them. He was at least getting fish on patterns I told him to put on. They just didn't want anything on mine. It was a beautiful day. The wild streams I fish on around my area are a lot more fun.
