Decided to cap off my Memorial Day weekend with a few hours of evening fishing on the breeches. Water was a little off color from the rains, but the flow was not uncomfortably high and the usual cool flow, although I did not take a reading. Prospecting with a variety of of nymphs in the Reg water starting around the dam at Allenberry and working my way back to the run. After about 7:30 risers became more frequent. I spent a little time trying to entice a tailing carp to no avail. Fish began rising around me and I switched to a sulphur with a soft hackle dropper. Missed a few as I continued up toward the Run where I had parked. Passed at least a half dozen anglers coming or going, but there were certainly no crowds.

A steady sulphur hatch came off as darkness fell. Missed as many as I caught but managed several nice wild browns, including one well fed brown of about 14" who put up a nice aerial show before finding the net. Fish were rising steadily even as I left, but I was blind casting. Nice way to end the weekend. Now back to work!
