Yellow Breeches, Cumberland County 3/8/15

FINALLY! A warm weekend to break some hardcore cabin fever! Went with my buddy to Yellow Breeches on Sunday from 11-6. Weather was great, warm sun and a cool breeze. Didn't take a water temp but it was clear and crisp. Parked at the run and found that there were many other anglers, however on viewing the stream there were trout everywhere so there wasn't much overcrowding. We stayed in the run all day and had a fantastic time right from the first cast, about 10 or so trout a piece caught on multiple variations of flies including hares ears, pheasant tails, various midges, green weenie, san juan, crystal meth, and wolly buggers. Fish were being caught all around and everyone we talked to was having a great time. Its a great feeling to finally get out and know that this is only the beginning to another great spring season!

I was out there as well on Sunday. I was fishing in the hole down below the bridge. I caught ten as well but lost more than I landed. I caught most of mine on a BWO rs2 but also had strikes on a white wooly bugger, squirminator, and pheasant tail

Is it true that fish commission dumped truckload of fish right below bridge boiling springs?

Fished today and did quite well on top. Used my own flies, Clown Shoe Caddis. They were hammering it. Great day.

Took my 11 yr old son to fish the Run today. We had a great day. Started out slow, but picked up. Hatches seemed to occur about every hour and fish would get very active on top. Caught a 17" Brookie on a clown shoe caddis. My son did well too. Caught about 5 on his hand tied zebra midge. He caught the PA grand slam; a Brookie, bow, brown and tiger. He also caught a breeder rainbow that had me stumped for a while. Looked more like a salmon with that that hooked jaw and colors. Also caught a few with my little stone fly dry on top. He had a blast.
