Yellow Breeches, Cumberland County, 1/2/15

Was out today from around 3pm-4:15pm. Not too much surface activity. A few tiny BWO's and Midges. Flow was pretty good with water not too discolored. Had a few takes but none landed. Forgot my thermometer so didn't get a temp but I'm guessing between 40-45. Overall a nice day out after not being out for the past few weeks due to deer season and the holidays. Good luck and just give it a try.

Crazy question but do you know of or did you by chance talk to anyone about the spawning process and when it should slow down and fishing come back to speed?? I have been looking to get up there but last time I checked the stream report on orvis.com it said the spawn was still happening but the report was over a week old.

It's highly unlikely that any spawning is still currently underway in Breeches (Of course, one should avoid walking on redds).

By all means come on over and fish Breeches. In the unlikely chance you see fish still spawning, you can obviously just leave 'em alone.

Last time I was out I didn't see any spawning. I believe that the bulk of it is done. I also second what Fishidiot said that if you see spawning fish or redds then just don't mess with them. As long as you pick a warmer day 35+ degrees, then you should be good. Good luck and look out for the midges. Also, the midges that I saw flying around were about a size 24 or smaller so make sure you go really small.
