Fished the fly section on Saturday and ended up catching 11. They were taking midges above the dam, griffith gnat was the ticket. It produced my first fish on dries for the year.

Sunday I spent some time in the open water as well I landed 5 in the open water and 2 in the fly section. Wind was very tough on Sunday. The breeches stocked the outside on Saturday. I went to one of my spots and seen 1 other guy, don't you know he raced to get to the good area to get ahead of me. I left him go and went and started in the water he just left. He was fishing minnows and only caught 2. Seen some gut piles from the day before where they already had taken quite a few.

On Saturday I stopped by YBAC to pay the yearly dues and one of the dads was waiting with his son to go hit the stream. It was funny because the waders were bigger than the kid. Anyhow on the way home I seen them along the highway and I stopped to see how they did. The young kid had caught 2 and the Dad 1, the kid was all smiles and had a great day.

Thanks YBAC for all the hard work you do.

Thanks for the report. The last time I fished the YB was the run down through Allenberry on Christmas and the fishing was very slow. Do you know what particular sections they stocked in the open waters, such as Creek Rd, etc. I'd love to get out there as the YB is where I grew up and one of my favorite streams to fish. Thanks.

Sounds like a good time, I haven't been there for several months. You never know what you're going to run into there, it gets a lot of traffic throughout the year.

I've run into lots of courteous anglers who will ask you which direction your fishing. I've also had people wade right past me there too. I always accept that when on the Breeches you are going to have to compete for a spot most times, at least in between the run and the dam.

J-man - I believe we spoke there at the Allenberry rock dam Sunday evening. We caught several fish on the Breeches there at Allenbury on Monday. Small prince nymphs in size 18 and beaded Hares Ears. BTW the water was boiling above the dam on Monday....midge activity was incredible.

Great reports from some brave fishermen!

I'll wait until the weather warms even though I will miss some great fishing.

Patrick G, they hit all the normal spots. Most of the fish were 2 and 3 year olds. PA longbow it was nice to meet you. Glad to hear you picked up some on Monday.
