Yellow Breeches, Cumberland Co., 9/27/20

WEATHER: 70s, mostly cloudy.
WATER: Low and clear, 61 degrees confirmed by thermometer.
HATCHES: None.

Hiked the Letort rail trail and then fished lower Breeches today. YB is low but fishable with a decent flow for this time of year. There were a fair number of anglers out this beautiful autumn Sunday. I spent a good bit of my time just looking around. Considerable numbers of trout were visible everywhere I looked, both stocked and wild. From one bridge I could see probably about 14-20 wild BTs, mostly small.

Fishing was tough and trout were spooky. Managed to bring a few to hand on terrestrials. Fish were in pools; riffles did not produce for me today (water is probably too low). Fallfish were very active and numerous and something of a nuisance.

Trees are starting to change. It's gorgeous out there - get out if you can.

Dave_W thanks for the info I fished the Letort today no hates today I saw one trout

Where you fish the LeTort can make all the difference in the world there. While you might have seen only one trout, rest assured there were many more than that and they saw you before you would ever see them. Use the Search feature and review past threads on this topic as there is a lot of good info there. In all the years I fished the LeTort, I only fished the special-reg area a handful of times. I caught fish there, but there is much better water elsewhere in the system. Good luck

Been doing too much work and my daughter is in softball.
Hopefully i can get out soon.
These are two areas i had on my list. Encouraging to hear a decent report.
Knowing me ill likely get enamored and spend too much time getting my butt handed to me on the Letort :lol:

Fished Breeches 10/01 at Allenberry and have a huge fish break me off before I could do anything about it (at the dam on a big wooly bugger) there was a lot of surface activity between 8-11 AM
