Fished 11:00 AM-3:30 PM. Sunny, upper 80's. Fished the C&R and was very surprised...only 3 people fishing and they were down at Allenberry. (I parked at Allenberry.) Walked up stream to the section above the deep water and used a honeybug and it was one of those days where you lose count! Definitely a 25+ fish day and I missed dozens more...they spit that fly out faster than I can set the hook. Another guy just upstream of me was doing well also. I caught several fish in the 16-18 range. One observation - Herons everywhere! I saw one of them catch 2 fish. Not sure if they were trout as there are more suckers than trout. Also saw a mink. When I quit, no one on the stream. That section of stream fishes well in the mid-day because the water temps are cold coming out of Children's Lake.

Tried the run yesterday at about the same time. Managed to bring one brown to the net, but pickings were slim! This was my first time on the Breeches, and I was really put off by the lack of elbow room at the playhouse. I found that the Run was actually much more free.
Took me a while to find something the trout actually wanted. My only complete fish was on a red ant (thanks PaulG), but got a bunch interested in a number of different flies after that. Lighter caddis were alright, black buggers got a bite or two, and black ants also produced some action. It wasn't until the storm clouds moved in that I realized that they were REALLY hungering for hoppers! In the 10 minutes before I called it quits, I had 3 or 4 different trout pull it in their mouths, or just graze.
Also saw about the most beautiful brook trout I have yet found (so vibrant that I saw it out of the water). Didn't get him to take anything. It took a while, but now I have a healthy respect for the Breeches. Was pretty dismayed for my first 2 or so hours..

I'm sorry, but to complain about 'spot burning' the C&R area of the Breeches is laughable at best. Complaining about crowds on that piece of water is like complaining about crowds at the mall during the Holidaze. It's part of the game, deal with it, or stay home...

Not a good example of spot burning here. This is an example of advertising a current hatch on a well known stream, with the result of increasing angler traffic.
It'll obviously increase pressure, particularly this time of year. Some want that, others don't. I have my opinions on that, and I certainly don't see giving those opinions as laughable. We're all tired of these arguments.

Whether specific examples of "spot burning" - such as this - increase angling pressure is debateable. I don't think it's "obvious" that it will. I do feel that some cases of internet discussion can sometimes increase pressure for some period of time (I am convinced I've seen it).
In this case, we're talking about a famous section of a famous trout stream that has been very heavily fished in the past - trust me, I've fished this section before the internet - and fishing pressure here is much less than in the past. A point that perhaps ought to be kept in mind is that many of our famous waters here in PA have something of a local economy that depends on fishing tourism to support fly shops, fishing, guides, hotels etc. Keeping up some buzz about these places helps keep some of these businesses thriving.

I might be wrong, but the whole point of a forum is to share information and have discussions with people who have similar interests.
Like many people here, I check the stream reports to see how other people are doing on their home streams...some of them I will probably never fish...but the ones that I do, or plan to fish in the future I am especially interested in...and I like to hear when people have a good day on the water.
If I wasn't interested in finding out who else fishes 'my' spot, I wouldn't read the fishing reports...and if I didn't want to participate in discussions about current hatches or tactics for particular streams, I would just go fish by myself and not be a member of an online forum.
Or maybe I'm just crazy for getting enjoyment from other people's success...

Giving your opinion in the appropriate time and place is never laughable, but doing so at the wrong time or place is certainly ridiculous. There is a major misconception that this board is public. It is not. This board is not provided to us through some government fund or supported by All Fisherman of PA United, it is provided for our enjoyment through Dkile.

Good report Ztrout and follow up Goro...very informative and a good read. I read it originally when you guys posted it, but now that the thread has gone down this route, I felt more compelled to drop a line in support of guys like you who take the time to write up a report. I'd be pissed if one of my threads turned into this, so I just wanted to offer some kind words.
As I recall, there was a designated SBing thread correct? Keep the conversation there...it can and will go on indefinitely...and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as the dialogue is held in the proper venue. Otherwise this has the potential to happen to every stream report thread, and seriously, you can't really call the following a stream report:
"I went fishing today in a stream in Pennsylvania. I used a fly rod and flies. I caught some fish, I missed some others. I had fun."
^ The only way you can be sure that one of your threads will not get accused of SBing though.
