Fished the Yellow Breeches along Creek Rd. down to around the bridge at Leidhigh Rd. on Monday 5/18. Weather was clear and sunny and water was nice and clear as well. Caught and released 4 small browns in the afternoon, 3 on a #16 pheasant tail nymph and 1 on a #12 royal coachman. Fished that evening as well right next to the bridge on Leidhigh Dr. The fish were gorging on mayflies, caddisflies, and nymphs that evening with rises occurring almost nonstop for an hour. Caught a small brown and brook on a #16 elk hair caddis. Also caught a nice 18 inch brown on a #14 elk hair caddis with cream hackle. It was really exciting to see so many rises.
Fished the same spot on Tuesday 5/19 from about 1pm until 3pm. Another beautiful day and was able to sight fish most of the time. Caught two browns using a #16 copper john and #14 prince nymph tandem rig dead drifted on the bottom. I was then able to hook into a fat 18 inch rainbow using a dead drifted #14 pheasant tail nymph that was underneath a #14 prince nymph, he took the PT. Unfortunately I didn't have my net and while landing him he snapped my 6x and got away. Decided to fish the C&R section along the Allenberry for about 45 mins. Later that evening. Caught a really nice brown trout about 16 inches on a tandem nymph of a #14 black copper john and #16 hares ear, he took the copper john, dead drifted underneath some bushes overhanging the stream.
