I fished the C&R from about 4 pm until dark. I started off nymphing, picking up a few, but switched to a dry as soon as the fish started rising. There were a fair number of hendricksons on the water. There was a scattering of caddis and midges as well but the mayflies seemed to hold the most interest. The fish were being fussy. I had numerous refusals for every fish that I hooked. 7x tippet and a disappearing sun increased takes. It was a good evening of all browns, mostly wild. It would be nice to see a little more water flowing.

It was my first time on the Breeches this year and the first time I fished a weekend evening there in quite a while. There were a lot of anglers out.

At breeches on Saturday and you are right on about the trout being fussy. Fished from about 2-6 and only managed 3 in which all were caught on a caddis dry when the bugs started coming out

I put the wrong date in. I was there Saturday as well. I tried a caddis but did much better with hendricksons and more towards dark.
