Great cloudy day with the temps in the low 60's.

Water: Very clear in the mid to upper 50's at about 280 cfs

Hatches: none

Conditions looked great to get out onto the Yellow Breeches for the day. Great fall day with some outstanding leaf color on the way up. I fished the special regulations area around Allenbury. I worked it pretty hard, but was tough fishing. The fall day made up for the lack of fish.

I've only been on the Breeches twice I think. I need to explore it more. Thanks for the report!

I walked along that stretch during heavy and cold rain either last week or the week before. I annoyed no less than 3 great blue herons in that fairly short stretch. Not saying that explains low catch rates, but my optimism subsides when they bunch up like that.

Hard to explain my slow day. I threw a lot of different options out there. I think that a lack of bugs had them a little less motivated and not on the feedbag that day. No herons for me that day. Actually a very quiet day all around with only a couple other of lady anglers with a guide out of Allenbury.
