A nice Friday afternoon on the "britches."
Weather was partly cloudy and mild. Water was 43 degrees, slight stain, and about 375 cfs, which is a bit on the high side but a nice flow, about what one would expect to see in April. A few midges around but no surface activity.

Angling pressure was heavy with lots of local spin guys out enjoying the weather. But yuh really know you're having a weird winter when you see kayakers out! The folks in the boats were obviously birding and excited to see the many kingfishers that were flitting around the creek. Mighty nice day for mid January.

Anyway, plenty of happy fish - got several wild and several stocked fish sticking nymphs in the predictable runs. No need to fish deep holes, trout were spread out where one would expect to find 'em in the spring or summer. Small wild fish were active in the riffles.

nice report FI. Love seeing those wild browns on the Breeches, catching more each year.
