Yellow Breeches Creek, Cumberland County, 5/28/2015

I was out last night in the area behind Allenberry from about 5:30-9:00 pm. When I arrived, there was about 10 other vehicles. When I got to the stream, the other anglers were spread out evenly making it easy to find a good spot. So, at about 6 I noticed that there was sporadic rises up and down the creek. I tried to identify what flies were flying around and I believe they were olives and an occasional grey fox. But I thought that the fish were probably focusing on sulphur emergers, so that is what I first tied on. From about 6:15-7:30pm I caught 3 on the sulphur emerger. I then tied on a sulphur dun and picked up another 2 fish until around 8:15. I then started to notice a pretty good spinner fall, so you guessed it, I tied on a sulphur spinner and picked up 4 more fish until I left at about 9pm. I missed at least 10 fish throughout the night. Even with the storms we had the other day, the water clarity wasn't too bad in the area I was in. It was actually fairly clear and about 65 degrees. So it was a great night to be out in the water during a good hatch.

I was upriver a few miles hoping to get sulphurs last night too, but they did not show up where I was. I also got a temp of 65.

I fished the C&R area this morning. Action very slow compared to what I normally see this time of year. Also a lot less anglers than I have seen in June in previous years fishing the YB.
