Enjoyed a really nice day at the Yellow Breeches. Was joined by Maurice about mid-day. Weather was sunny with temperatures ranging from upper 40’s in the morning to low 60’s in the afternoon. The water was very cold in the upper 40’s. It felt like if you were up to your waist for more than 20 minutes!
Seemed like we had trico hatch early in the morning until about mid-day. Sporadic caddis flies during the day with some occasional #18 BWO bouncing around in the air.
Had some luck with #22 Griffy Nat against the banks during the day. Maurice refused to changed flies all day and just showed me up with his orange fire ant for a solid five hours. I changed flies in the late afternoon to #18 BWO and had a great evening and certainly banged a few out. Maurice closed the day out with our only rainbow of the day.

End of the day just before the sunset I thought I saw a black cougar run across the road into the weeds. Maurice claimed it was a black cat, but be careful just the same if you are out that way. 🙂
