I made it to the run about 3:00. It was overcast with a bit of mist and the air temp was in the mid 50's. Did not get water temps but I only fished the run. There were half a dozen people fishing the run off and on.
I didn't plan on just fishing the run it just sort of worked out that way. As I was suiting up, I caught a sulfur and thought this might turn out to be a good day if a hatch takes off. I started for the bridge across the run when I just had the urge to try the hole just above it. I had tied on a caddis emerger (sz 16) because I feel it this particular style imitates caddis and mayflies. Within 5 min I had three hits and a LDR. Things quieted down and I added a bwo emerger (sz 18) dropper. This turned out to be the ticket. First cast and my first brookie. I fished this hole for another hour and brought approx. 10 fish to hand.
I looked around the corner and saw that no one was fishing the second hole from the outflow so I moved up to give it a try. The fish were either stacked on top of each other or I was catching the same fish multple times. When I stopped fishing a little after 5:00, I must of caught over 20 fish (I never really count, just rough numbers).
The interesting thing about all these fish is, everyone except one small 6 incher (brown) was a brookie. Could not get the rainbows and browns to look at what I was using. I would say that 90% of the fish caught were on the bwo emerger.
