Fished out by Valley Green. Flows looked great and water was clear. The recent high flows definitely augmented the creek bottom and old deep pools were now shallow wadable riffles and vis versa. So it was almost like fishing a new creek.
Anyone know if they stocked it before the rain on 4/29?
I fished deep and slow with a double nymph rig, high sticking into some deep water, riffles, eddys...and only came up with 4 hook ups and one landed 12-13" hard fighting bow. Did hook up with one deep that ran off my reel and broke off. All hook ups were in deep pools just off the main foam line in walking speed water. The high levels and flows definitely freaked the fish out and they're still recovering.
Anyway, the creek looks great...if they are planning on stocking it again soon it would fish well. However, based on the WDFW website, they aren't planning on it.
